Here at Cheapflights, we believe that travel is so much more than simply going on vacation. Travel helps us understand the world we live in, teaches us more about ourselves, and allows us to build bridges during a time of division. Travel can open our world. It’s this belief that has led us to work with Broaden Out Their Horizons, a small, grassroots charity that works with schools in London and South Africa to bring young people together so that they can share their similarities and learn from their differences. Both BOTH and Cheapflights share the common belief that young people learn most from real life experiences, especially those derived from seeing the world through travel.

For the past 12 months, Cheapflights staff have been making a valuable fundraising contribution to BOTH, across a series of activities ranging from cake sales and quiz nights (we aced the geography round, naturally), to a ‘virtual bike ride’ from London to Durban, all in the effort to help with the organisation of educational exchange visits between Elizabeth Garrett Anderson School in North London, and Ntafufu Senior Secondary School, in the Eastern Cape.

We’re passionate about the transformative power and enjoyment that young people can gain from such visits. Take a look at how the Ntafufu Senior Secondary School pupils got on during their trip to our London HQ below…
