Once you’ve arrived at Humberto Delgado Airport, Lisbon, you’ll be a short trip away from the city centre with a variety of transport options available to get there. There are three options available at the airport: a taxi, a bus or the metro. A taxi can be prearranged, or you can hire one from outside the main terminal or through the help desk in the airport. These trips will take around 20min depending on traffic. If you head to the right side of Terminal 1, you’ll find the metro station, where you can take the rail to the city centre in about 35min. You can catch the bus from outside the Terminal 1 arrivals hall, which will take you to the city in approximately 45min, however you can also rely on taxi apps to get you to the city.
Lisbon is the coastal capital city of Portugal and offers tourists an array of attractions to visit and activities to do both inland and on the water. The Torre de Belém stands high above the seafront by Lisbon Wharfs and has stood there since its construction in the 16th century. Taking a trip on Tram 28 is a must for any visitor of Lisbon. Take a walk through the streets of Alfama District and experience the old European feel while exploring the likes of Lisbon Cathedral and other chapels, as well as dining at alfresco cafés. Standing tall above the district, you’ll find one of the most recognisable attractions in Lisbon, St George’s Castle. Roughly half an hour outside the city, you’ll find the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Sintra, featuring baroque churches, mansions and palaces of the kings and queens of old. Venture out to the waters of the Tagus Estuary and explore the marine life on offer in the underwater Lisbon Oceanarium.
