It was a complete rip off. You book the car for one price. Then when you pick it up they double that cost with insurance. Then they hit you with a £500 deposit that they take. Of course when you drop the car off and leave then they invent some scratch that doesn't really exist and you end up paying some additional fee for their invented scratch. It's a massive con and rip off. I have photos of the car to show the condition of it and the scratch they are claiming was on the check out inventory.

What a terrible experience. Inflated prices for substandard vehicles. The car that we were given was a gutless wonder! It had a very hard time getting on the motorway! First leg of the journey and the key fob battery died!! I will never use this company again! Stay clear of Sixt. You get way less than you pay for!

Roy from the pick-up in Eindhoven airport was excellent. He went out of his way to make sure I can pick up the rental even if my flight got delayed (which it did).

They didn't have the car I ordered and tried to force me to pay for the upgrade. I said no, but they said that I had to buy the $70 per day insurance then. I'm not on vacation to argue and cause problems so I just accepted it, but it will make me hesitate next time to rent with Sixt in the future.

The pick up of the car was very fast compared to other times that I was renting car. The car was nice brand new and comfortable. The team looks exhausted or not motivation and not happy was not such a nice experience but they were professional and winning to give Service this is for sure. Merry Christmas and happy new year.

Instead of looking for solutions, the person at the desk kept repeating why we couln'd rent the car. I can understand the reasons why alamo doesn't accept prepaid credit cards (although Sixt does), but can't accept to have receptionists being so unresponsive and clearly lacking skills to look for solutions.

Kayak showed an image on a van. What we found was a 7 seat car (Daver) that could not accommodate any bags. Fortunately Avis had a 7 seat Citron which we could squeeze into but it was uncomfortable. The Avis folks did make a little concession on the “upgrade””. The worse was my interaction with Kayak and the servís rep Rachel. We went back and forth with little understanding about being misled by the images on the Kayak website. Very upset with Kayak and the response to my complaint

There is a €1200 deposit needed for your rental. Why so much I have no idea. And they don't tell you when they return the deposit. I'm down €1200 until who knows when. Not fun if you're dependent on that for your vacation.
