If you're flying from OR Tambo International Airport, you will find direct flights to Harare in around 1h 30 min. If you're flying from Cape Town, you can expect non-stop flights from Cape Town International Airport to take close to 3h. Flights with a single stopover will take closer to 5h 30min. Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport, Harare, offers a couple of transport options for reaching the city centre. You can take a shuttle bus from outside the main terminal, and a trip to the city on a shuttle bus will take around an hour, depending on traffic. Outside the Arrivals terminal, you'll find airport taxis that will take you to the city in around half an hour. There are a few hotels that offer airport transfers between the hotel and the airport. Contact your hotel to confirm before your arrival. You can also rely on taxi apps to get you from the airport to the city centre.
Harare is the capital and central hub of Zimbabwe and offers tourists several activities to do and sights to see in the city and nearby areas. The National Gallery of Zimbabwe offers a collection of contemporary art from the African continent that includes traditional textiles and fabrics of all sorts. You'll find the Harare Gardens a short walk away from the gallery, as well as the local park, Chapunga Sculpture Park, as well as The Museum of Human Sciences. If you head towards Epworth, you'll be able to explore The Balancing Rocks in Matopos National Park. If you make your way out of Harare, you'll find National Heroes Acre, a national monument and burial grounds of old soldiers. One of Zimbabwe's most well-known attractions is Victoria Falls in Victoria Falls town on the border of Zimbabwe and Zambia. Watch the Zambezi River water crash and swirl along the rocks before plummeting down the rock face and forming a whirlpool at the bottom of the waterfall.
