However, keep in mind that some destinations with strict visa requirements may require proof of onward travel. While your airline may sell one-way tickets, it’s worth checking if your destination requires additional documentation, particularly for international trips.

According to Cheapflights data, some of the best deals for one-way domestic flights in the past two weeks were Johannesburg to Nelspruit at R575; Johannesburg to Durban at R600; and Johannesburg to Bloemfontein at R605.

You can score cheap one-way tickets to international destinations too. Recent Cheapflights data highlights some incredible deals, like Johannesburg to Harare for R1 104; Johannesburg to Victoria Falls for R1 228; and Durban to Manzini for R1 301.
