Peak season:
Zanzibar experiences year-round warm and pleasant weather, but the peak season runs from March through May. During the ‘summer’ months, Zanzibar receives most of its rains, but as it is the hottest time of the year, tourists flock here for island escapes during the peak season. The resorts in Zanzibar can be fully booked during the peak season, so to avoid the risk of overpaying for late bookings or not finding availability, make sure that you book your cheap Zanzibar getaway well in advance.
Off season:
June through October is when Zanzibar receives its coldest weather (although temperatures don’t drop below 20°C). Hence this is the archipelago’s off season with regards to tourism. You might be able to find cheap flight deals to Zanzibar during the dry, colder months, but as with the peak season, be sure to book well in advance to ensure availability.

If weather is an important factor for your trip to Zanzibar, use this chart to help with planning. For those seeking warmer temperatures, January is the ideal time of year to visit, when temperatures reach an average of 28.0 C. Travellers hoping to avoid the cold should look outside of July, when temperatures are typically at their lowest (around 24.0 C).
Seeing that Zanzibar has year-round pleasant weather, there isn’t a wrong time to fly here. You might want to consider booking your cheap flights to Zanzibar three months in advance and have them coincide with the off season, between June and October. Booking your flight tickets to Zanzibar before the onset of the low tourism season will likely see you pay less for airfare and will also allow you to enjoy the landscapes amongst thinner tourist crowds.

This airline is horrible. They allowed my wife who has a Mexican passport to board a flight from Mauritius to Johannesburg, South Africa without notifying or checking if she needed a visa. This resulted in her being in holding for over 24 hours without food or water and cost over $2000 in expenses to leave the country after they threatened to put her in a holding cell for 3 days and fly her back to Mauritius completely ruining our travel plans. The airline didn’t even reimburse us for our flights and was charged $1200 by immigration in South Africa. We missed a Safari we were looking forward to for months and they handled it so poorly. While detaining my wife several of the security guards asked for her help to speak Spanish to other customers in similar situations because even though it’s an international airport her and I were the only ones who were able to translate. They treat people like literal slaves. Keeping us locked in an area & forcing us to work. Be highly cautious and don’t fly with this trash airline.

The islands of the Zanzibar archipelago have been attractive to explorers, game hunters, and spice merchants for centuries, but with a variety of luxury resorts on offer, it’s also a mecca for travelers seeking upmarket comforts. There’s a wild call of nature found in Zanzibar, and it’s not hard to understand why. With its unsurpassed natural beauty, entrancing and exotic cultural displays, and a vibe that cannot be found anywhere else on earth, Zanzibar is a destination that sells itself, and one that may very well steal your heart for good.
